<송리적 사건(The Event of Song-Ri)>(2025)은 ‘너머의 공간’을 상상하는 것에서 더 나아가, 그 상상 속에서 발생하는 복합적이고 개인적인 사건들을 담아낸 작업이다. 외부에서 오는 충격뿐 아니라, 몰입의 순간에서 생겨나는 감정의 변화와 사건의 흔적들을 화면 안에 담고자 했다. 이 시점부터는 거대하고 보편적인 주제에서 벗어나, 작고 사적인 이야기들을 중심에 놓기 시작
했다. 그리고 그 이야기들은 ‘겹(레이어)’이라는 다양한 이야기를 가진 층들로 화면 위에 차분히, 그러나 분명하게 쌓여간다.

그렇게 축적된 감정과 사건의 흔적들은 한 겹 한 겹이 되어, 작업전체를 이루는 큰 사건,

즉 ‘송리적 사건’이 된다.

The Event of Song-Ri (2025) goes beyond imagining a “space of beyond” to encompass the complex and personal events that occur within that very imagination. I sought to capture not only the shocks that come from outside, but also the emotional shifts and traces of events that emerge in moments of immersion. From this point onward, my work began to move away from grand and universal themes, placing small and personal stories at the center instead. These stories gradually accumulated on the canvas as “layers”—each with its own narrative—quietly, yet with unmistakable presence.

The emotions and traces of events thus accumulated form layer upon layer, ultimately becoming one large event that constitutes the work as a whole—
that is, The Event of Song-Ri.
